We started Riverside Dobermans in the hopes of producing the
Total Doberman.
Many people say that a Doberman is a Doberman, this is not the case.
BANTU:
The total Doberman is to be stable in mind, body, and spirit. This Doberman is able to display an uncanny ability to protect and serve its master(s). It is of exceptional temperament and displays nerves that a prospective pet owner or working owner is able to control at all times.
As a professional dog trainer and having worked in shelters in the past I have seen and handled many dogs, including Dobermans that display a serious lack of stability in mind, body and spirit. Unfortunately many of these dogs are
euthanized in shelters as the owners simply cannot or do not know how to control their dogs behaviors. Having said this much fault also lies with the owners for not properly educating themselves on the breed of dog they have chosen and how to train it.
Why breed the Doberman?
When I was a child I was bit in the face by a Doberman. Looking back I was as much at fault as was the dog, however as a young child I was not at all aware of the
"before and after" effect of my actions.
ZOYA:
As a young adult dogs fascinated me, we always had them growing up. But their was something about the Doberman that kept me wanting to learn more. When I began working in an animal shelter, I saw Dobermans, German Shepherds, Rottweiler, Pit Bulls being destroyed by poor breeding. As a professional dog handler I determined who lived and who died based on temperament tests derived from professionals all around the world. It was heartbreaking to have to destroy many of these animals, but it was also necessary.
In short our goal is to make the Doberman and even better breed than it already is!
At Riverside Dobermans our dogs are handled, bred, and raised by us in a loving, nurturing environment. They are highly socialized with children, adults, and other pets. Temperament testing begins at four weeks of
age. The puppies spend sunny days outdoors exploring, playing, and socializing with each other and us.
All puppies are given a thorough examination by a licensed veterinarian before being placed in their new home. All puppies will have been given their first set of vaccines, have been dewormed three times, have had tails, dewsclaws removed by three days of age. All ear cropping shall be done prior to the puppy going to its new home, as we feel that it is our responsibility to ensure that this is done correctly and that the cropping is healing properly. If the owner wishes to have natural ears that is fine. In this case the puppy will be able to go to its new home at eight weeks of age.
We ensure our puppies go to only the best homes, whether it be for pet, show or work. It is vital to us at Riverside Dobermans that owners who have purchased one of our puppies always know that we are only a phone call away for
FREE training advice for the lifetime of their Doberman. We also realize that sometimes due to
unforeseen circumstances owners must find new homes for their Dobermans. We hope and strive to maintain a relationship with the owner and their dog long after they leave our home. It is our hope that should such a circumstance arise that the owner would not hesitate to call us.
If you require further information about us or have any questions please do not hesitate to email us or
call.
